Since 1974

One shop, one address, fifty years.

Baker Electric Inc. offers residential, commercial, and new construction electrical services to the Lubbock, TX, area. We have been doing it from the same building on Frankford Avenue since 1974.

Fifty years is a long time to stay in one place.

Baker Electric Inc. started in 1974, family owned and operated, and it has stayed that way for over 45 years. The shop is still at 14110 Frankford Ave, Lubbock, TX 79424, the same address it has always been. We are not a franchise and we did not get bought out or renamed along the way. The company that wired buildings in Lubbock in the 1970s is the same one that answers the phone today.

New construction wiring is what the company calls its specialty, and it is the work you can point to. Lubbock-Cooper West Elementary School is wired by us, lit along its front elevation at night in a photograph we are proud enough of to put on this site. So is a SouthWest Bank branch, brick and stone with our conduit and panels behind the walls. Neither of those jobs happens without a crew that has done commercial work for decades and knows what an inspector on a school project or a bank build is going to want to see.

Beyond the landmark jobs, the day-to-day work is commercial and residential electrical service, remodeling, panels, lighting, underground electrical, and irrigation well service, which is the electrical side of a farm or pivot-irrigation pump: the service feeding it, the panel and controls at the wellhead, the underground run out to it. It is on our list of services because we have always done it, and it is not something most Lubbock electricians carry.

What holds fifty years together is not a slogan. It is a customer like Linda Middleton, who wrote in a review that she has used Baker Electric for over 35 years and has never been disappointed. That is longer than a lot of businesses have existed at all, and it is the same shop, the same phone number, and the same license the whole time: Texas Electrical Contractor's License #17852. Every technician working under that license is bonded and insured, every job is warrantied, and the company has stayed a member of the Better Business Bureau and the National Electrical Contractors Association for as long as most of its customers can remember. Cash and check are the only payment types we take, which is about as plain as a business gets. There is no financing pitch here and no card fee to explain. Call during business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and if we miss you we will call back by the next business day.

You can rely on Baker Electric to take care of all of your electric needs. We have used them for over 35 years and never been disappointed.
